    Description

    Rare Hand Painted American Belleek Ceramic Art Co. MONK PORTRAIT Mug. Artist signed and dated 1902. Amazing raised gilt on a cobalt blue background. In excellent condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. I took a couple extra pictures of the underside as there is an irregular glazed portion in the center. Maybe it was done this way to protect the mark and the artist signature and date. There is a darkened line running along the very edge of a portion of this glazed area. I did not want you to mistake this for a crack. It is possibly a discoloration caused by paint or something else that got sealed in under the glaze. This is an outstanding mug and I don't know if I ever seen a better example. It measures 5 3/4" tall x 4 3/8" across the bottom. Please email if any questions.
