The year 1953 was a watershed for the Buick division. Not only did it mark Buick’s golden anniversary, it also saw the advent of the proprietary V-8 engine, which later came to be known as the nailhead for its vertical valves. The engine was dramatically shorter, lower, lighter, and more powerful than the lauded Fireball straight eight that had been the company’s mainstay. The new engine, combined with Buick’s trademark Dynaflow transmission, proved to be a winning combination for the higher trim levels. Among the most memorable models for 1953 were the Rivieras, which included a handsome pillarless hardtop. At its introduction, the design was marketed as “stunningly smart.” Atop Buick’s product line, in both style and price, was the Roadmaster, identifiable by its quad ventiports on the front fenders and chromed trim panels. The magnificent Roadmaster Riviera featured here is finished in stunning Mandarin red over black with a black top. Recipient of a no-expense-spared restoration, this multiple show winner is among one of the best examples to come to market in years. Winner of the coveted Senior Gold award at the 2011 Buick Club of America nationals. Just released from a long-term prominent private collection and is now ready for its next caretaker. However, as with all pre-owned automobiles, the condition is subjective, and we recommend that the potential buyer fly out to inspect, as well as test drive any of our vehicles before finalizing their purchase. If it is not feasible for you to personally perform an inspection, we will gladly help facilitate an inspection by an independent service center of your choice and will make delivery arrangements of the vehicle for this purpose. All vehicles are sold in “AS IS” condition. Extended warranty options are available on most vehicles. Please be advised that no verbal statements concerning any vehicle constitutes a representation or warranty of said vehicle. Our goal is to provide you with the best service and buying experience as possible. All purchases include an additional 5 processing fee which covers the processing of paperwork, pre-vehicle delivery costs, FedEx shipping fees, and a 30-day temporary registration plate so that the vehicle can be driven prior to the title transfer.
